Original ketuba ©2008 Elaine Adler — 22" x 26"
This ketubah has an oval border in dark, rich colors. The bride particularly wanted playful curves around the edges. In the four blue panels in the corners are the lines of a poem written by the groom's mother for her son and daughter-in-law. Within the traditional Aramaic text, the first and last occurrences of the names of the bride and groom are written in large, colorful letters, surrounded by playful curlycues. Tucked in the floral vine in the four red borders are small icons depicting the lives of the couple. |
