Trees have always been a primary symbol in Judaism, reflecting the Torah, creation, generations of ancestors, life, and more. This playful tree holds many fruits, including a pomegranate, symbol of life and fertility with its many seeds. A bird, rabbit, and deer add to the scene. The Midrashic quote, With each child the world begins anew signifies the hope brought to the world with each birth. I have always been drawn to the rich texture of trees and their rambling roots, and I love drawing them.
